Even if you have never been to Los Angeles, you have probably heard of Beverly Hills. It’s one of the most famous neighborhoods in the world.
Beverly Hills is one corner of the “Platinum Triangle,” a famous grouping of upscale neighborhoods in central Los Angeles. The other two points in the triangle are Holmby Hills and Bel Air. Beverly Hills is actually its own city—a city that, interestingly enough, doesn’t encompass the Beverly Hills Post Office (BHPO) neighborhood with its celebrated 90210 zip code.
In fact, the City of Beverly Hills encompasses far more territory than Rodeo Drive and nearby tourist stops. In The Flats, lots are neatly divided along quiet, tree-lined streets. Up in the actual “hills” of Beverly, adjacent to the Hollywood Hills, the palatial estates sport panoramic views from extravagant poolside terraces. Befitting its reputation, Beverly Hills is the very essence of the Good Life.
However, Beverly Hills is divided into “North of the Tracks” and “South of the Tracks” (remnant lingo referring to the rail line that used to run down Santa Monica Boulevard. The smaller lots south of the tracks may be within reach of middle-class buyers.
