Beverly Hills Post Office
This is it — Beverly Hills, 90210. Part postal district… part state-of-mind. When the Federal Government assigned this post office to this then-rural stretch of Beverly Hills, they had no way of knowing that the post office would come to define a region, a lifestyle. The most famous zip code in the country, it is the namesake of the popular 1990s soap opera Beverly Hills 90210. If you want to walk in the footsteps of Brandon, Brenda, Dylan, Kelly, and Donna, Beverly Crest—better known as Beverly Hills Post Office or BHPO—is the place to be.
Actually located just to the north of the City of Beverly Hills, BHPO encompasses some of the most prestigious real estate in the world, home to stars, royalty, and titans of industry. Median list prices exceed $5.7 million, with prices per square foot north of $2,600. Of particular note are some of the most elite gated communities in an already-elite neighborhood, including:
- Mulholland Estates. Tucked next to Fossil Ridge Park in the Santa Monica Mountains, overlooking the San Fernando Valley. One of the most opulent housing developments in the region at the time, it remains home base for many major stars.
- The Summit. Where Mulholland and Coldwater Creek meet, The Summit encompasses roughly eighty star-studded homes surrounded by three parks.
- Wallingford Estates. This gated, private neighborhood was mostly built in the 1970s with 6-bedroom homes ranging from 3,000 to 8,000 square feet. The exception is the trophy 22,000 square foot Wallingford Estate mansion, lording over the quiet community since 2000.
- Beverly Ridge Estates. This gated community boasts a massive mean square footagefor home, north of 10,000 square feet per lot.
For Los Angelinos in search of the high life, it’s hard to top BHPO. The good life awaits behind the gates.
